Nominate a colleague for the Virginia L. and William K. Beatty MLA Volunteer Service Award

This award recognizes a medical librarian who has demonstrated outstanding, sustained service to the Medical Library Association and the health sciences library profession. The award is named in honor of Virginia L. and William K. Beatty and recognizes their significant contributions to the association and the profession as longtime volunteers to the association. The winner receives a $1,000 cash award and a certificate.

ACRL’s Miriam Dudley Instruction Librarian of the Year Award

Miriam Dudley Instruction Librarian of the Year Award 

The award recognizes an individual librarian who has made a significant contribution to the advancement of instruction in a college or research library environment.  The award honors Miriam Dudley, whose pioneering efforts in the field of bibliographic instruction led to the formation of the ACRL Instruction Section.

ALA’s Virginia Boucher/OCLC Distinguish ILL Librarian Award

The American Library Association is seeking nominees for the annual Virginia Boucher/OCLC Distinguished ILL Librarian award. This award recognizes and honors a librarian for outstanding professional achievement, leadership, and contributions to interlibrary loan and document delivery or resource sharing services. The award consists of $2,000 plus citation.

Contributions must have occurred during the past two years and must be demonstrated in at least one of the following areas:

·         Planning and implementing an innovative or pioneering approach to ILL/Document Delivery service that is recognized as a model on a regional or national level.

·         Notable publication, such as an article, book, or conference paper, which is deemed significant in the literature of the field, and was published in the two years prior to the candidate’s nomination.

·         A record of sustained, recognized, and exceptional participation in regional, national, or international associations devoted to the promotion of ILL/document delivery in a library environment.

Nominations must be submitted by December 15, 2011.
