SLA Business & Finance Division with ISI Emerging Markets offers an International Travel Award to attend SLA Annual 2012

The SLA Business and Finance Division, with the sponsorship of ISI Emerging Markets™, is offering one award in the amount of US$ 2,000, plus complimentary registration to one CE course offered by the Business & Finance Division, to a business information professional from a developing country to help cover expenses at the 2012 SLA Annual Conference, to be held in Chicago, Illinois, USA, July 15-18, 2012.

SLA Business & Finance Division offers 3 awards

The SLA Business & Finance Division is recognizing members of the division who have made outstanding contributions by offering the following awards: 

 

·         Outstanding Achievement in Business Librarianship, including a gift of $1,000.

·         Distinguished Member Award, including a gift of $1,000.

·         Distinguished Leadership & Service Award, including a gift of $500 to the individual and a $500 contribution to the organization that the winner supports.

The College & University Business Libraries (CUBL) Section of the Special Libraries Association Business & Finance Division is now accepting applications for a $1,500 award recognizing the accomplishments of a librarian new to the field of academic business librarianship.  Sponsored by Business Expert Press.

SLA’s Business & Finance Division offering 6 student scholarships to attend SLA 2012 Annual Conference

 

TO STUDENTS:

 

The Special Libraries Association Business and Finance Division is offering student stipend awards to help cover expenses at the 2012 SLA Annual Conference in Chicago Illinois, USA  July 15-18, 2012.  The Division will award student stipends and professional grants for a total of up to six $1,500 awards.

Please note that applicants should be membersof the SLA Business & Finance Division by March 1, 2012 to be eligible for consideration.  Students can join online at the following website:  http://www.sla.org/content/membership/joinsla/index.cfm  . Student membership in SLA is only $40.00.  Students will need to apply prior to March 1st, in order for SLA staff to have time to process their application.

ALA BRASS Gale Cengage Learning Student Travel Award 2012

2012 ALA BRASS Gale Cengage Learning Student Travel award

Are you an aspiring business librarian or do you know someone who is?  Send in your nominations!

Applications for the 2012 Gale Cengage Learning Student Travel are being accepted until January 31, 2012.  Please forward this to your local library school listserv or to any other potential candidates.

The BRASS Gale Cengage Learning Student Travel award is a $1000 cash award given to a student enrolled in an ALA accredited master’s degree program to fund travel to and attendance at the ALA Annual Conference in Anaheim, California and a one-year membership in the Business Reference and Services Section (BRASS) of RUSA.  Applicants should have demonstrated interest in a career as a business reference librarian, and a potential to be a leader in the profession as demonstrated by activities that may include (but are not limited to) coursework, internships, jobs, special projects, and publications.
